8th Grade Critical Thinking

This class looks at the underlying reasons for believing claims and analyzing opposing viewpoints. Students will study the scientific method, examine sources and evidence, and will learn how to brainstorm effectively. Students will then apply these skills to their studies of literature, history, science, etc. Additionally, the class will explore organizational skills, effective studying methods, and how to take tests. The class emphasizes discussion based on the daily readings and projects.
