Dual Credit…

Grace Preparatory Academy currently does not provide dual credit opportunities. Grace Preparatory Academy diploma students interested in dual credit may transfer in dual credit coursework done elsewhere. A Grace Prep Academy diploma student MUST average 4 core classes at GPA-NB per year during their high school career to graduate with a GPA-NB diploma and transcript. This leaves a very small number of classes available for dual credit coursework opportunities.

IMPORTANT: Please advise the Academic Coordinator with plans for dual credit classes. It is important to make sure the dual credit coursework works with your academic pathway for graduation.

Students and their parents have to research, apply, enroll, and help their student complete dual credit classes. Our school does not assist in any part of this process. The Academic Coordinator can sign paperwork if it is required by the institution offering the dual credit coursework.

The administration at GPA-NB urges caution when registering for dual credit for the following reasons:

  • The grade students earn in dual credit courses will stay on their permanent college transcript.

  • TAKING TOO MANY DUAL CREDIT Courses CAN JEOPARDIZE QUALIFYING FOR A GRACE PREP ACADEMY DIPLOMA.

  • Dual credit teachers expect students to be operating at college level in skill, thought, and emotion.

  • Dual credit courses are not generally taught from a Christian worldview and may push boundaries.

  • Dual credit teachers may operate at varying levels of concern for their students.

NOTE: If you have already enrolled and/or completed coursework at a college for dual credit, please advise the Academic Coordinator at GPA-NB so your graduation pathway can be updated. When the class is completed, an official college transcript will have to be requested and sent to GPA-NB to have this class listed on your student’s GPA-NB high school transcript for graduation. We will also need a numerical grade from your dual credit professor to properly calculate your grade point average.
